In this post, I’ve put together a list of 15 well-known chains in Japan offering plant-based options you can enjoy casually. From burgers and ramen to curry and donuts—there’s more out there than you might expect!

Starbucks has been expanding its plant-based lineup in Japan! Most items are labeled as “plant-based.” You can also customize any drink with soy, almond, or oat milk for an additional fee.

Look out for this sandwich:

Unlike the standard udon bowls, this dish doesn’t use fish-based broth, making it a great choice for vegan and vegetarian diners.
🍽️ Bikkuri Donkey
Their Soy Curry Burger Dish (ソイカリーバーグディッシュ) is a vegan-friendly option for those craving Japanese-style hamburg steak—without the meat.
🍔 MOS Burger

Japan’s original burger chain offers a Green Burger <Teriyaki> (グリーンバーガー<テリヤキ>), made with a plant-based patty.
